Ingredients
Fresh
- 1 lb raw peeled, deveined shrimp, tail
- on (26 – 30 or 31 – 40 count)
- 2 tsp ginger & garlic paste
- 2 tbls coarsely chopped cilantro, for garnish
- 1 fresh lime, for garnish
Oils & Spices
- Salt to taste (approx. Âľ tsp)
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbls cooking oil
Steps
- Butterfly the shrimp keeping the tails on the shrimp and put in a large mixing bowl.
- Pour the cooking oil, ginger-garlic paste, salt and spices on the shrimp. Toss well so the ingredients get mixed well.
- Let the shrimp marinate for anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours.
- Pre-heat a grill on the stovetop on high heat. Make sure the exhaust fan is on since cooking inside will create some smoke.
- Put the shrimp on the grill and cook until done (about 5 – 7 minutes).
- Once cooked, transfer the shrimp to a platter or serving bowl. Sprinkle the shrimp with chopped cilantro and squeeze juice of ½ lime. Mix and serve.
